Shawn Lewis of Hyper Static Union

I met a guy when I was recording the Trust CD. He was flown in to engineer my project. Mac Powell had told me, "This guy can do everything. He is so gifted." A couple of months later when I met Shawn Lewis, I quickly understood what Mac had been talking about. Shawn is the front man for the group Hyper Static Union. He has a sincere heart and desires to use God's gifts to reach others for the Kingdom of God.
Shawn put a lot of guitars on 'Trust'. He sang a lot of the background vocals. His creative juices never seem to slow down, whether at the board engineering, singing or throwing down some awesome sounds with his guitars. If you get a chance to hear Hyper Static Union, do it. If you can get them into a venue, church or hall, do it. It is a blessing to have had Shawn be a part of 'Trust', and God willing we will get to work again.

Two Years Old

Today was my oldest's birthday. Elena is 2 years old. We had a great day.....Ice Cream, shopping, planning for a party for this Saturday. I bought her some VeggieTales/Larry Boy paraphernalia....Jonah's Boat, a Larry Boy hugable soft doll, and a shirt she can wear of the superhero, himself.
I head to Nashville on Friday to meet with CCM magazine representatives to discuss how they can better help the Independent artsit....me, being one of those. I got the invite due to my humble involvement with Indie Community. God bless all.

Larry Norman

When I started my walk of faith I began changing the music I listened to.....my heart was hungry to sing songs to and about Jesus. I found a refuge in the music of Larry Norman. Known by most as the 'Father of Christian Rock Music', he was way ahead of his time, seemingly, back in his early years. He is still rockin' today. I love to see a person's heart exposed in their music and Larry Norman is the model. Norman, Keith Green, Pat Terry, and others paved the way for artists like myself....who are just trying to get their music from their hearts to the people.

Check out my friend, Phil Wing

I use to lead worship at a church called Apex Community Church. I actually was a part of the church until they planted the church and moved their services to Sunday mornings. A young man, Phil Wing, took over the worship responsibilities and I was able to spend some time getting to know him before I left Apex. He is a special person with a special heart. I want to invite everyone to check out his band's website and purchase his latest CD called 'True Light'. True Light is an EP that has songs God has developed through Phil's heart. Here are few pictures of Phil and the The Phil Wing Band.

And as I have said before, if you live in the Dayton/Kettering, Ohio area, check out Apex Community Church. I would not go to another church if I lived up there. Peace.

Home, kids, Larry Boy!

Made it back home to the family on Friday, July 21st. Boy, sure did miss them. Good to be on the road....but great to get home again. My oldest girl, 2 years old, lovews VeggieTales movies and especially LarryBoy! She loves to sing Larry's big song. "Larry Boy....uh uh uhuh uhuuuuuh, Larry Boy....uh uh uhuh uhuuuuuh", etc. I got him on my screen saver just for her.

Anyway, great to be home but I will leave you with some more shots of me and of the Georgia folks!

Down into Gawgu

Flew out of Maine and headed to sunny St. Simon's Island, Georgia for a show on the 19th at Family Life Assembly. Great church, great group of folks and had a wonderful time with them.

It would be awesome to get back down there. If you live near Family Life Assembly, you should check out this church. They are on fire for Jesus!

your clicks can help Chris Carder grow a tree (sorta)

ok so the tree's a bit blurry

at the bottom of this page you should see something that looks like this please take a second and click it as it will help Chris Carder's blog grow a tree... (you can probably just click the banner in this post).

well, not a real tree... but, heynounce is a site that let's readers grow the ranking of the blogs, websites, etc., that they list.

so, when you click the heynounce banner on this blog - it grows in popularity as reflected by a growing tree. click the link and you'll see ... it's easier to understand that way.

anyway, thanks for the click :-)
