UNIQUE CLOUD

Wow, this cloud flew over my house the other day.  It is indeed one unique cloud and it literally 'rolled' past my house in 4 minutes.  Pretty awesome.  Never saw anything like this in 'cloudage'!

Buried a friend on Tuesday

I had the privilege to sing at a friend's funeral today.  Jim Knight and were next-door neighbors and best friends in high school.  He loved life and it showed in his delightful attitude.  He was always smiling.  He loved his children well and it was a joy to hear how they loved him, but more how they love Jesus. I pray my 6 and 8 year olds display the legacy that Jim's (and Scarlet's) children do when they are grown.
I sang these three songs:

Lead Me to the Cross
Trust
10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)

Check him out.

An Amazing Mission Trip to Honduras!

Wow! What an amazing trip the team of 18 journeyed on two weeks ago. I signed up in August to go along on a mission trip to Honduras with Forest Park Community Church, (my home church) located in Louisville, KY. After many meetings and fund raisers, we set out on February 18, 2012. Most of us journeyed with American Airlines through Miami, Florida. Three of our team members were to take a different flight with Continental via Houston, Texas. Our flight was uneventful.... except for the AMAZING landing in Tegucigalpa. We met Terry Dupont, founder of Open Eyes Ministries of Central America. We hoped on a renuvated old school bus and traveled about and hour and a half to our home for a week in Comayagua.

The next day, Sunday, we had two services at two different churches. Usually, someone from our team will give a testimony followed by some singing by yours truly and a couple of other folks from our team, then we have someone from our team preach. Always following the sermon is an intense time of the call to repent and surrender to Christ. Many people came to know the Lord at these times. This was then followed by a time of healing where we would ask anyone wanting prayer to come down and we would lay hands on them and ask the Father of Glory to meet them where they were.

Our team originally set out to be a medical mission trip, but because we had no doctors and only one nurse sign up to go, Open Eyes changed our week to that of Evangelism. So, everyday, our team would go to a certain area of Comayagua and work with a church for that day. (This is the same Comayagua where the prison fire was just days prior to our trip.) Our North American team would split up into three, four or five groups each hooking up with a translator that works for Open Eyes. We would then go to an area near the 'church of the day' and meet up with the leadership of that church. We would then start walking the streets knocking on doors. Each group would have a translator, a leader of the church and our team members going door to door sharing our story of how Christ intercepted our lives....and how he wants to do the same for them.

Almost no one was ever turned away by the wonderfully hospitable Honduras people. By the end of the week, from the door-to-door exploits, the school meetings, and all the church meetings we know of at least 175 people who asked Christ to be their Lord and Savior. With churches who would be there to help these new believers began to grow in their walk with Christ! It is just a wonderful experience partnering with Open Eyes Ministries because we know these new brothers and sisters in Christ will be mentored and discipled. ALL praise belongs to Jesus.

I have been so encourage to share my own story as a result of this trip. I would also like to encourage you (whoever you are reading this little blog) to tell your story. Just tell others how Jesus changed your life. INVITE them to embrace the Truth of the gospel that He wants a relationship with them. Why God desires that relationship so much that He would send Christ to pay for our sins is beyond my understanding......BUT HE DID! Just share your story…with your neighbor, your grocer, your doctors and most of all with your family. 175 people decided to Trust their souls to their Creator that week in Honduras. Awesome!

Bound for Honduras

Forest Park Community Church in Louisville, KY is sending a mission team to Comayagua, Honduras tomorrow morning. A team of 18 will embark early on February 18th and arrive in the early afternoon. Find the latest trip news here.

I can only believe the Lord God Almighty, in His amazing foreknowledge has been preparing our team to go at such a time as this. Comayagua has been in the news due to a huge prison fire that killed over 350 (and still counting). Our church has suffered the loss of two wonderful young men in the month of December. God has prepared our hearts to help others in the midst of their suffering. 'God, grant us Your words to deliver to those in desperate pain."

Here is where we will land tomorrow afternoon! Check out this landing!

I have added my song Strange and Wonderful to the FanFaves on Indieheaven. Strange and Wonderful has long been one of the most requested songs I have ever had. I have many times felt God's presence when the last verse kicks in...as John 1:1 is proclaimed. I will tell you how God brought this song to me in a later post.

Ride to glory: Motocross crash at FCA camp takes the life of local teen

(From The SouthEast Outlook Newspaper)

Dylan ...First ran the race.

On Dec. 30, 2011, the 17-year-old senior at Jeffersontown High School pulled on his boots, strapped on his helmet and goggles and straddled his neon green Kawasaki motorcycle with the number 316 in giant letters on the front and side. Everyone who knew Dylan understood the significance of those three numbers that stood for John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Dylan loved motocross, but he loved Jesus more. He’d been riding dirt bikes since he was little, a nine-year veteran of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes motocross team that reaches riders for Christ with the themes to “put the cross in motocross ” and “faster for the Master.”

Dylan’s dad, Tony, and younger brother, Matthew, ride motocross. So does his pastor, Ronnie Caswell, along with many from Southeast. His mother, Patty, has been an enthusiastic fan.

Earlier that morning, Dylan led the devotion for the crowd at the FCA winter camp at Durhamtown Plantation in Union Point, Ga. He also did it the night before.

And as he had done a thousand times before, Dylan kick started the bike with his right foot and the engine ripped to life like a chainsaw. A video captured him riding up and down the sides of a deep dirt pit, then flying through the motocross course. Dirt flew as he leaned into curves. He loved jumps, to reach the top of the arc, freeze, rotate and dive for the ground. Dylan rode like a pro.

The track at Durhamtown was not difficult or dangerous, but during that morning ride, Dylan lost control of the bike and flew over the handlebars. The bike landed on his chest. FCA sponsors, some of Dylan’s best friends, held his hands as Caswell prayed and performed CPR, but minutes later, about 11:15 a.m., Dylan “rode to glory.”

Read the rest of Dylan's story in this week's Southeast Outlook.

Dylan First Memorial

Here is a video of a young brother in Christ who grew up at our church. On December 30th, he was riding down in Durhamtown in Georgia......had a crashed and headed onto glory to be with his Savior. Dylan was a minister for the National FCA Motocross. He did more in 17 years than most do in a lifetime. He played in our praise band at times. He was an excellent violinist. He was and incredible kid. I hope and pray God raises a young man as Dylan for my two girls to marry when they grow up!

Great video of footage, some from his last day here
