Ice Storm, Big Move, 2009 CIA Summit

Lots of stuff happening around here! First of all, Kentucky (and much of the Mid-West) have been under a huge Winter/Ice storm for the last 8 days. It has become the biggest storm in KY history. More people out of power than ever before. But LG&E are on their game. The place looks like a war zone with all the downed trees and power lines. The next few days are suppose to warm up.

Besides all that, my home church, Forest Park Community Church, has been moving to a larger facility for the last month. Check out the story in Louisville's Courier Journal. We should be in by March 1st(ok maybe the 15th).
It has been fun transfering a traditional looking building into our 'home'. But a whole lotta work. Check out our website if you get a chance.

ANd just to send a little plug out about the CIA Summit.....I am pumped to go to my 3rd Summit. It is a great place to get encouragement, grab some wisdom and build relationships with other artists trying to change their world for Christ. I will surely be headed down to Nashville, TN at the end of March....God willing, of course! Check out the news at Indieheaven!

Christmas is coming.......

Wow! 2008 has all but disappeared! Good riddance, I say. I wipe the dust of 2008 off my feet and look forward to 2009. God has been a constant help in time of need and I do rejoice in His amazing love that is absolutely unrelenting to pour out His grace on our world....including me.

2 more days and Christmas is here. We are excited around the Carder home. Especially our two girls....Elena, 4 and Keely 2. What a blessed time to be able to love on these little ones. We got the Nativity scene in the front lawn with lights on the house. The home inside is filled with Christmas and we enjoy those Christmas movies.....The Santa Clause, Home Alone (Elena's favorite....she loves the scene with the spider on the guy's face), and my favorite....It's a Wonderful Life.

I hope you have two or more special reasons to celebrate this Christmas.....but remembering to keep the main reason....the main reason, which is God's special gift to us...the Lord Jesus! Happy Birthday Jesus.

Chris

Home for the Holidays

Headed to Georgia this week to visit family and friends. Looking forward to getting back to the old neighborhoods and familiar places from my past. My mom is an amazing cook and I have already put in my request for her awesome Lentil Soup. About anything she makes creates a smile in my tummy, so I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving meal with the family. Turkey, dressing, etc. All the trimmings. Probably watch some NFL football and hang up mom's Christmas lights.

I hope to visit with a few friends that I have missed for a while.

Pat Terry has been an inspiration most of my life. He is an amazing songwriter and will be releasing a new project very soon. Check him out and get Pat's project when it hits the shelves! I hope to see him while I am down in Smyrna, Georgia....my home town and where Pat still lives.
