Psalm 30

Psalm 30

1 I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, and have not let my enemies rejoice over me. 2 O LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me. 3 O LORD, You have brought up my soul from Sheol; You have kept me alive, that I would not go down to the pit. 4 Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones, and give thanks to His holy name. 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. 6 Now as for me, I said in my prosperity, "I will never be moved." 7 O LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face, I was dismayed. 8 To You, O LORD, I called, and to the Lord I made supplication: 9 What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness? 10 "Hear, O LORD, and be gracious to me; O LORD, be my helper." 11 "You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness, 12 That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

Losing.....slowly!

Well the latest wieght situation is a drop to 263 on Sunday morning, to 264 on Monday morning.....I suppose due to the El Nopalito easter celebration food I plunged into yesterday...chips and all. I honestly thought it would be worse.

This will make it difficult to hit 258 by Thursday morning.....but the attempt will be made. Oatmeal in the a.m., salads, and some sort of baked fish tonight...and maybe again, soon. Low snacks, but something that will keep the fires burning. AND the biggest one, not eating at night! And continue to work out at Ideal Fitness.

My big goal is to be down to 258 by the CIA Summit, which starts on Thursday evening. And then along with that, not go back to poor habits while I am there! I am hoping to reach that goal on Thursday morning.

Sorry to be late on this....I had a lot going on last week. Taxes to do, lots of preparation for the awsome Easter service at the Jeffersontown Community Center....and just a couple of little girls that need attention!

I also put my song 'Refuge(Pslam 62)' up on the indieheaven.com Fan Faves. Click the picture below to get there and vote for it...in the Adult Contemporary category.

Moon is turning red.....sort of.....

Total Lunar Eclipse tonight February 20th, 2008. This will probably be the only total lunar eclipse of the year. And while the earth's shadow is upon our moon, the moon will appear red. "Earth has an atmosphere. The delicate layer of dusty air surrounding our planet reddens and redirects the light of the sun, filling the dark behind Earth with a sunset-red glow." What an amazing display of God's creativeness!

Old School Song - Psalm 139:17,18.

Psalm 139 has always been one of my favorite passages in the Holy Scriptures. And from previous entries I have expounded on various verses of that song. Today's focus: Psalm 139:17,18.

17 How precious to me are Your thoughts,
O God! How vast is the sum of them!

18 Were I to count them, they would
outnumber the grains of sand....
When I awake, I am still with You.

The entire psalm is describing the intricate way that God is involved in our lives. He searches us, He knows us. He knows where we go during the day and where we lay our heads at night. Even before we speak, He knows what we are going to say. He is our Creator and has full knowledge of how we behave and work, why we grieve or hurt, when we stand and when we fall.

Then we get to these two special verses that reminds us that God is thinking about us always. He did not create this world and then 'fly off to another galaxy' to do some other work. He is always thinking about us. His thoughts to us can not be numbered. You might as well start counting the grains of sand in the entire world....absolutely impossible. We weary and have to fall asleep at night to regain our strength....but He never sleeps nor slumbers. When we wake up, we are still with Him.

Whatever you or I have to endure in this life, we are assured that Jesus walks every step with us and is constantly, with His still quiet voice, loving on us and pouring out His encouragement on us. He breathed life into us and continues to move us by His Spirit....as we allow Him to do so.
