Bound for Honduras

Forest Park Community Church in Louisville, KY is sending a mission team to Comayagua, Honduras tomorrow morning. A team of 18 will embark early on February 18th and arrive in the early afternoon. Find the latest trip news here.

I can only believe the Lord God Almighty, in His amazing foreknowledge has been preparing our team to go at such a time as this. Comayagua has been in the news due to a huge prison fire that killed over 350 (and still counting). Our church has suffered the loss of two wonderful young men in the month of December. God has prepared our hearts to help others in the midst of their suffering. 'God, grant us Your words to deliver to those in desperate pain."

Here is where we will land tomorrow afternoon! Check out this landing!

Strange and Wonderful

I have added my song Strange and Wonderful to the FanFaves on Indieheaven. Strange and Wonderful has long been one of the most requested songs I have ever had. I have many times felt God's presence when the last verse kicks in...as John 1:1 is proclaimed. I will tell you how God brought this song to me in a later post.

Click the link below, go to FANFAVES to hear Strange and Wonderful....and vote by giving it 5 stars!!!!! Thanks!

Ride to glory: Motocross crash at FCA camp takes the life of local teen

(From The SouthEast Outlook Newspaper)

Dylan ...First ran the race.

On Dec. 30, 2011, the 17-year-old senior at Jeffersontown High School pulled on his boots, strapped on his helmet and goggles and straddled his neon green Kawasaki motorcycle with the number 316 in giant letters on the front and side. Everyone who knew Dylan understood the significance of those three numbers that stood for John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Dylan loved motocross, but he loved Jesus more. He’d been riding dirt bikes since he was little, a nine-year veteran of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes motocross team that reaches riders for Christ with the themes to “put the cross in motocross ” and “faster for the Master.”

Dylan’s dad, Tony, and younger brother, Matthew, ride motocross. So does his pastor, Ronnie Caswell, along with many from Southeast. His mother, Patty, has been an enthusiastic fan.

Earlier that morning, Dylan led the devotion for the crowd at the FCA winter camp at Durhamtown Plantation in Union Point, Ga. He also did it the night before.

And as he had done a thousand times before, Dylan kick started the bike with his right foot and the engine ripped to life like a chainsaw. A video captured him riding up and down the sides of a deep dirt pit, then flying through the motocross course. Dirt flew as he leaned into curves. He loved jumps, to reach the top of the arc, freeze, rotate and dive for the ground. Dylan rode like a pro.

The track at Durhamtown was not difficult or dangerous, but during that morning ride, Dylan lost control of the bike and flew over the handlebars. The bike landed on his chest. FCA sponsors, some of Dylan’s best friends, held his hands as Caswell prayed and performed CPR, but minutes later, about 11:15 a.m., Dylan “rode to glory.”

Read the rest of Dylan's story in this week's Southeast Outlook.

Dylan First Memorial

Here is a video of a young brother in Christ who grew up at our church. On December 30th, he was riding down in Durhamtown in Georgia......had a crashed and headed onto glory to be with his Savior. Dylan was a minister for the National FCA Motocross. He did more in 17 years than most do in a lifetime. He played in our praise band at times. He was an excellent violinist. He was and incredible kid. I hope and pray God raises a young man as Dylan for my two girls to marry when they grow up!

Great video of footage, some from his last day here
